Her husband Thomas Ackerman filed for divorce on Sep 2, 1847, at that time ge was a resident of Pontiac Township. For some time previous to their marriage, Adaline resided with her brother-in-law Edward Anable, with whim she was on intimate terms. about 7 months after her marriage to Thomas Ackerman, Adaline gave birth to a son, and Thomas stated that he had not had a connection with her until after their marriage, and was informed that Edward Anable was the father. in Jan of 1847 Adaline went to stay with Edward Anable, later that same month, her father came and took her to his residence in Genesee County, after which, Edward Anable removed with his family to Genesee County, Michigan, where he and Adaline reside in the same house. Edward Anable was the husband of her twin sister Angeline.
