Obit: Pontiac Evening Press, Feb 17, 1896, Sarah M., relict of the late Daniel M. Judd, passed quietly away at her home near Drayton Plains Sunday night at 11 oclock, at the age of 73 years 10 months and 11 days. Her death is directly attributed to heart failure, but indirectly to her fall of a week ago, when she severely inhured her hip by slipping on the ice. She was the most estimable lady, whose whole life was devoted to the care of her family, though not to the excelusion of her friends, for whom ahe always had a tender heart and helping hand. Sarah M. Dewey was born in Riga, Monroe County, N. Y. Apr 15, 1822; moved to Bloomfield this county with her parents in Jun 1831. After a few years the family moved to the Banks of Elizabeth Lake, and later to a farm near Four Towns. Here she remained with her parents until Feb 3, 1842, when she married Daniel M. Judd and moved with him to the farm where she died, one half mile south and west of Drayton Plains. This union resulted in the birth of six children, three of whom are living. The oldest Volney C. , died in the army; Harvey D. died at Drayton Plains from injuries received in a mill at that place; and Theo P. died in infancy. Those surviving her are Daniel, of Boyne Falls, Mich,; John K. of this city and T. P. of Ovid. Her husband died in 1877, and for a few years her son T. P., now of Ovid, lived with her, but of late years her grandson, John, son of Harvey D., now made his home with her. The fureral will take place from the Drayton Plains School house Wednesday afternoon at 2 oclock, and the remains will be buried in the Drayton Plains Cemetery.
