He was a soldier in the war of 1812, a Private in Capt Reeses regiment of artilers for a term of three months. He enlisted the first time on July 4, 1812 as Sodus Bay, NY, and the second time at Fort George on Dec 15, 1813. He received two land grants, one for 40 acres, and a second for 120 acres. His War of 1812 claim was filed on Jan 25, 1857, at that time he was residing at Pontiac, Oakland Cunty, Michigan.
