Obit: Oakland Press, Oakland County, Michigan; Knox, William Calvin; Age 90; died Thursday, Aug 16, 1900 at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn. Funeral service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, Aug 18, 1990 at the Dyer funeral Home, Holly. Reverend Melvin L. Leach officiating, burial will be held in Andersonville Cemetery. Mr Knox was born in Grand Rapids, on May 11, 1900, the son of John and Anna (Dale) Knox. He moved to Cadillac in 1907, he was a graduate of the University of Michigan and taught at Ferndale and Ecorse High Schools. He married Iva Studebaker in 1964 and lived in Davisburg, and then in Allen Park. He was a member of the National Audubon Society, Northwest Oakland and Springfield Historical Societies and the Roy B. Salliotte American Legion Post. Surviving are one daughter, Marie Sandberg of Gaylord, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his wife Iva in 1979. Visitation will be from 2-9 pm Friday. Memorials may be made to the Michigan Cancer Foundation.
