Mrs. Mary Phillips, 85, died at the home of her son, Clarence K. at Sashabaw Plains, March 26. She was born in Port Byron, N. Y. and came to Michigan with her parents when a little girl and has lived in this community ever since. Had she lived until April 3, she and her husband would have celebrated their sixty-second wedding anniversary. They were married April 3, 1861, at Fenton, Mich. Surviving her are her husband, Theodore Phillips, then son, Clarence, of Sashabaw Plains, and three grandchildren, Ethel, Mary and Edith, daughters of Clarence Phillips. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery here, with Rev. Stephens officiating.
