We understand that Mr. Embree Ferguson, of Bloomfield, was called upon by a drover with whom he had previously had some deal, who desired to purchase some cattle. A short time sufficed to strike a bargain, the cattle were delivered to the drover. Mr. Ferguson sending a man with him to the Detroit to receive the purchase money, $1,200. On arriving in Detroit, the cattle were placed in a yard when the drover started with the man accompanying him to another part of the city to pay for the cattle and while on the way gave him the slip, and becoming concerned that the drover did not intend to pay him, he searched for the cattle at the place where they were left, but no trace of them could be found, and he was obliged to return to Mr. Ferguson, minus both cattle and Greenbacks.
