G. A. Bell Had An Interesting Time Yesterday

A gas explosion in the residence of G. A. Bell of Parkhurst street nearly resulted in demolishing the interior of the kitchen yesterday. The gas-fitting in the house was just completed and Mr. Bell was searching for leaks by passing a lighted match around the jointed sections of the pipes. in constructing the job the workmen used a "T" instead of an elbow, and neglected to plug the open end. The gas had been turned on for three or four minutes when the explosion occurred. The force of the explosion raised the stove from its legs and broke several lights of glass. The plaster was also damaged to a considerable extent.
