Fire at M. Brown's

An alarm of fire at about six o'clock on New Years' morning proved to be the residence of M. Brown, salesman for John Pound, on Pike Street east. The steamer got to work in a short time, and notwithstanding the distance, soon extinguished the flames. The wood shed, in which the fire originated, was destroyed, as was also a part of the wing. The contents were removed in a damaged condition. Total loss about $300.
