Gasoline Explosion Causes Bad Burns

Last Friday when Elmer Collins of Clarkston tried to start a motor at the Yellow Cab in Pontiac the car backfired and the explosion of gas in the carburetor caused the gas he was pouring from a container to ignite. Mr. Collins' right forearm and hand were badly burned. He also received slight burns on the back of the neck and on the right ear. His clothing caught fire but with the help of those around him the flames were extinguished. He as rushed to the Sp. Joseph Mercy Hospital where he remained until Monday afternoon. He goes into Pontiac every day for treatment.
